Mars Volta - copernicus
Mars Volta - with twilight as my guide
New Mars Volta. Who'd have thought so soon, eh?
Tender little monster this one. No more struggling, no more asphyxiation, no more bleeding ears, genocides and xenocides. Well, maybe a little. I liked that, in fact. It took me a long while to finally be able to listen to a full MV album without having to miss, I don't know, Tenacious D (or something silly and vain like that) every fifteen minutes. Cause that's how long the songs were. But I did it. And then I listened to their whole discography in ONE GO! Ha! And look at me now. But I liked it. I have no idea what they're talking about, of course, but my heart is in it nonetheless.
This new one, Octahedron, seems to be more on the sensitive, melancholic side of the matters. It kinda drags its feet at times, with the occasional bursts of blood and golden thorns, but it's survivable. Maybe TOO survivable even.
And check out the cover. Eh? Eeeh? Dave, take a look. I know you're sick, but there's nothing wrong with your eyes, is it? Take a good look at this cover and tell me yours doesn't suck.
Hm. I still wanna see these guys live. Welcome back.
