I like the tongue-in-cheek "Story of Bo Diddley", the Beatles and Smokie (?) little stings. The cartoonish rhythm that somehow has old-school written all over it. I don't pretend to know what the hell went on back in those days, I just know this song sounds better than 99% of music these days.
As for "Paint It Black", I think this just has to be one of the best covers ever made, although, as the title suggests, it's not really a cover, it's much more than that.
