I still have the folder with the best albums of 2011, according to...some dudes on some website. I listen to this band or another from time to time, so I'll probably be done with it by 2015, tops.
Anyway, I listened to this band, Yuck. Cause the name of the band kinda grabs you by the throat and squeezes. And then praise comes out, surely. My standards being what they are, Yuck sounds okay. They tapped into my pocket of nostalgia and made the "jingles jangle". I checked on Allmusic.com and nope, they don't mention it anywhere: dude, they so sound like Bettie Serveert. Yeah, okay, sometimes. But, I mean c'mon, "Get Away" sounds like half the songs on Bettie's Palomine, an album which I have been listening to quite intensly back in the 90's. Because yes, Yuck sounds like the 90's to me.
Oh, duude, again with the 90's, really?
Fuck off, happy place!
So. Here's two songs, one of each, make up your own minds. Just one pinhole of a clue, though: they sound nothing like eachother, haha. But trust me if you listen to Yuck and Bettie back to back, on shuffle, like I did, you won't know which is what.
Bettie Serveert - Kid's Alright
Yuck - Operation
