THE LADY KILLER

Gnarls Barkley's Cee Lo Green has a new album out (thanks to my sister for the tip), it's called The Lady Killer and it sounds as it should: bombastic, vicious, heartbroken and crisp. You know how some songs force you to pay attention to the lyrics, while others you just hum? Well, this man has got pain, clarity, tenderness and sickness perfectly balanced in his lyrics, as far as I'm concerned. They really hit the spot and stick. The songs (with GB and everything) don't sound the same, but they are alike. He's found his guns and he's sticking to them. Maybe he could and should diversify, but if keeps doing what he's doing now, it's just as well with me; this guy can't really go wrong. He can go dry, but not wrong.
